Who Is Warren Buffett?

Biography Of Warren Buffett

Warren Edward Buffett ( born August 30, 1930) is an American business magnate, investor, speaker and philanthropist who serves as the chairman and CEO of Berkshire Hathaway. He is considered one of the most successful investors in the world and has a net worth of US$82 billion as of July 18, 2019, making him the third-wealthiest person in the world. Buffett was born in Omaha, Nebraska. He developed an interest in business and investing in his youth, eventually entering the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in 1947 before transferring and graduating from the University of Nebraska at the age of 19.
He went on to graduate from Columbia Business School, where he molded his investment philosophy around the concept of value investing that was pioneered by Benjamin Graham. He attended New York Institute of Finance to focus his economics background and soon after began various business partnerships, including one with Graham. He created Buffett Partnership, Ltd in 1956 and his firm eventually acquired a textile manufacturing firm called Berkshire Hathaway, assuming its name to create a diversified holding company. In 1978, Charlie Munger joined Buffett and became vice chairman of the company.

Buffett has been the chairman and largest shareholder of Berkshire Hathaway since 1970. He has been referred to as the “Oracle” or “Sage” of Omaha by global media outlets. He is noted for his adherence to value investing and for his personal frugality despite his immense wealth. Research published at the University of Oxford characterizes Buffett’s investment methodology as falling within “founder centrism” – defined by a deference to managers with a founder’s mindset, an ethical disposition towards the shareholder collective, and an intense focus on exponential value creation. Essentially, Buffett’s
concentrated investments shelter managers from the short-term pressures of the market. Buffett is a notable philanthropist, having pledged to give away 99 percent of his fortune to philanthropic causes, primarily via the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. He founded The Giving Pledge in 2009 with Bill Gates, whereby billionaires pledge to give away at least half of their fortunes. He endorsed Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton in the 2016 U.S.
presidential election and will judge current U.S. President Donald Trump by his results on national safety, economic growth and economic participation when deciding if he will vote for him in the 2020 U.S. presidential election.  So here is an another end of a blog so let's meet in the next blog or an upcoming blog to meet me till then bye bye byeeeeeeeeee๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿ‘‹

Despite the bright lights of showbiz disillusioning even the most innocent soul, there was an almost boyish appeal to the late actor that endeared him to his army of fans from the moment he stepped up to the screen as the lovable Manav Deshmukh in ‘Pavitra Rishta’.

His impish charm and traditional middle-class values made half of India fall in love with him a little, celebrating his victories and weeping over his heartaches when the show beamed into the homes of urban devotees and village dwellers between 2009 and 2011 before he quit the gig for something bigger.

An entry into Bollywood was almost a given for this talented powerhouse, who was discovered by casting director Mukesh Chabbra in a coffee shop and was instrumental in getting Rajput his first big break in ‘Kai Po Che!’ (2013).

The irony that Chabbra will also present Rajput in his final Bollywood swansong ‘Dil Bechara’ is not lost on anyone.

MIDDLE-CLASS VALUES:-

For his family and friends in Patna, Bihar, Rajput’s growing fame was a true blue rags-to-riches success story in an industry where star kids are ‘launched’ while ‘outsiders’ spend years knocking on the doors of producers and casting directors before slipping a foot into that world.
Rajput was often touted as the next Shah Rukh Khan, or perhaps an Ayushmann Khurrana, both of whom started their careers on television and struggled their way up the ladder of success to find fame and fortune in the big bad world of Bollywood.
Studying to be an engineer and following in the footsteps of his father, Rajput’s dream took him well beyond the parameters that Patna offered him. Following his mother’s death in 2002, one that many say he never truly recovered from, the family — including his father and four sisters — moved to Delhi where Rajput enrolled in engineering college. However, he dropped out to pursue his passion for acting.

In his early interviews, the actor often confessed the road to stardom was not an easy one for him but he looked back upon his struggles as an inevitable journey to get him just that bit closer to his final goal — breaking into Bollywood. “I was already
a superstar in my mind,” the actor told Man’s World in an interview once
.

Entering the entertainment industry came with its share of odd jobs — Rajput joined ace choreographer Shiamak Davar’s troupe and even grooved as a back-up dancer to Hrithik Roshan in ‘Dhoom 2’. The acting was the next big thing for Rajput and the actor soon enrolled into Nadira Babbar’s Ekjute theatre group before breaking into television with ‘Kis Desh Mein Hai Meraa Dill. Small-screen stardom was still a while away before television Tsarina Ekta Kapoor plucked him out of obscurity and made him a star overnight when she cast him in ‘Pavitra Rishta’.

His natural flair for dancing also landed Rajput as a star performer on several reality shows, including ‘Zara Nachke Dikha’ season 2 in 2010, followed by the fourth season of ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa’. In October 2011, Rajput decided to quit ‘Pavitra Rishta’ to study filmmaking, only to be discovered by Chabbra

Some may call it fate, while others may single out Lady Luck, but for Rajput, the call of Bollywood was a golden opportunity that few would pass up. Yet, his journey wouldn’t be without some hurdles.

In 2010, a certain Ranveer Singh had arrived on the scene and had just tasted success with ‘Band Baaja Baaraat’, along with bagging a deal with Yash Raj Films, while Varun Dhawan was waiting in the wings to be launched by Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar in ‘Student of the Year’ in two short years. For Rajput to find his footing without the backing of a large production house or a godfather would require a cracking script.

He would find that in Abhishek Kapoor’s ‘Kai Po Che!’ (2013), based on novelist Chetan Bhagat’s book, ‘The 3 Mistakes of My Life. The film proved to be a critical and commercial success and Rajput emerged as its breakout star with an earnestness that few could match.

SEVEN-YEAR'S STRUGGLE:-
Suddenly Bollywood was writing his own Cinderella story, with Rajput’s career trajectory following that of Shah Rukh Khan — he caught the attention of production powerhouse Yash Raj Films. It is said a three-film deal was soon drawn up and Rajput’s innocent charm was launched under their banner with ‘Shuddh Desi Romance’.

Bollywood critic Taran Adarsh described Rajput’s performance, saying: “After leaving a tremendous impression in his first Hindi outing, Sushant Singh Rajput... brings a lot of freshness with his unpretentious and spontaneous act.”

Filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani soon snapped him up for a cameo in his 2014 hit ‘PK’, a role that reportedly many rejected as it involved playing a Pakistani.

Many supposedly chided Rajput as well on playing the role, but in an interview with film critic Anupama Chopra, the actor clearly stated that no role was big or small to him and he wasn’t going to miss out on an opportunity to work with Hirani or the film’s lead stars, Aamir Khan and Anushka Sharma.

A year later Dibakar Banerjee’s mystery thriller ‘Detective Byomkesh Bakshy!’ earned Rajput critical praise, despite the film not performing well at the box office. It was also around this time that the first murmurings began to erupt that all was not well between Rajput and Yash Raj Films. It wasn’t long before the duo went their separate ways, with both calling it an amicable parting.

Few know the real story behind the fallout, but there were murmurings that Rajput was finding himself playing second fiddle to Singh and Arjun Kapoor, with the late actor losing out ‘Befikre’ to the former star. However, this was a story that Rajput himself denied during a 2017 interview with HT Cafe.

It is said that Page was a great help to Brin because his intelligence and also his great ability for business led to the creation of what is now Google. In short, Page was responsible for the high speed of Google. By 1995 Brin and Page were very good friends and shared their love of computers and both were very motivated to develop their internet search engine. His question was how to download the entire web. His intention was, then, to organize the world’s information and make it universally accessible and useful.
They held several meetings with brilliant people in this field, and they met Andy Bechtolsheim, an investor from Sun Microsystems. They decided to present their idea, they also made a quick demonstration and they got that, without thinking twice, Bechtolsheim extended a check worth 100,000 dollars to start the project. Although with this amount achieved only the beginning of the project, the young people full of enthusiasm began to get other economic support and various sources of income.
As a result, Brin and Page managed to get two of the most relevant US venture capital firms, Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers and Sequoia Capital, to agree to finance their idea. They then collected 25 million dollars. The project was still ongoing. At first, they thought of the word googol to baptize their search engine, a term invented by the mathematician Edward Kasner to name the number 1 followed by 100 zeros. Then they changed their name to Google. We must mention that Yahoo! He played an essential role in driving Google.
Yahoo! collaborated encouraging the creation of its own search engine, the pair of colleagues began to offer in their popular portal the possibility of searching through that engine. Page was shown as a leader since he generated important results and demonstrated his ambitious ideas. Therefore, Page was CEO of Google until 2001. The reason is that Page began to be less involved in the day-to-day management of the company.

They met with the MITS president and had developed an Altair emulator within few weeks to demonstrate on a minicomputer and then the BASIC interpreter.   Ratan Naval Tata

CHILDHOOD

MR. TATA came into the world on December 28, 1937, in the city of Surat, India. Ratan Tata’s father was MR. Naval Tata and mother was Mrs Sonoo Tata. He has a younger brother named Jimmy and a stepbrother as well named Noel Tata One may think that the early days in the life of MR Tata were amazing and luxurious since he was born in a very rich family. But the reality is pretty different, as when he reached the age of 10, his parents got separated. Being divorced especially in India, is viewed from a negative perspective and social status in society is reduced as well. His younger brother was just seven years old at that time. Even after his parents being separated, both his father and mother made time to meet their children Ratan Tata and Jimmy, but never came together again, as a family. This had a deeply negative impact on both the children. However, Ratan Tata was being looked after by his grandmother, Lady Navajbai Tata in Mumbai. Mr Tata has also mentioned in his various interviews, that his grandmother had a great influence on his life because she taught him how to live a disciplined life, as she was a very strict lady herself. And most of the leadership skills which he has today, are present in him due to his upbringing.

Education

The starting of his School days began at Campion School and eventually, he ended up finishing his school education at Cathedral and John Connon School which are situated in Mumbai. Later he got his B.S. degree in architecture in structural engineering in the year 1962, from the renowned Cornell University in New York. Afterwards he got himself enrolled into a program called Advanced Management Program in 1975 from the Prestigious Harvard Business School.

10 Success lessons from Ratan Tata for entrepreneurs.

1. Be a visionary
When Ratan Tata joined the group, it was barely doing any business outside India. Even though many opposed him, he maintained that the company had to go global. Today half of Tata’s revenues come from overseas. Under his leadership, Tata acquired brands like Tetley, Jaguar Land Rover, and Taj Boston.

2. Be humble
He is known for his humility, and there are countless examples. He started out working as a blue-collar employee for Tata Steel. He personally visited the families of the 80 employees who were affected because of the 26/11 attacks. He remembers almost everyone by their first names and is not dismissive.

3. Never give up on values
Values are something that defines a company, both to its employees and its customers. Public Safety and welfare has always been one of the main core values of Tata. The Tata Group has always been known for upholding these values and when Ratan Tata took the reigns, he too reinstated these values into the company culture. As a result, Tata has become one of the most trusted brands the world over.

4. Take Risks
Taking risks is the cardinal rule of business. As a leader, one needs to have the foresight and the capability to take risks that can take the company to new heights. Coming from business family, Ratan Tata was no stranger to taking risks and once also said, “I don’t believe in making right decisions. I take decisions and then make them right.” From acquiring the Jaguar and Land Rover businesses from Ford to taking over Corus, the second-largest steelmaker in Europe, Ratan Tata made significantly big moves and has managed to make things work in his favour.

5. Motivate others
Ratan Tata had the ability to inspire and motivate others which is very important for a leader. Being a great leader isn’t about checking all the right boxes but is about making sure you inspire, drive and spark your drive in others, so that they along with you, can bring about change, social innovation and progress.

6. Have faith In yourself
When you are dealing with life’s hodgepodge, every minute you take a decision. Some decisions are right while some decisions may cause situations to take an unpredicted turn. At such junctures, before people lose faith in your decision-making skills, you must have a staunch belief in yourself and must confidently come forward to make the situation in your favour.

7. Be open to criticism
As per a famous quote by Ratan Tata, ‘Take the stones people to throw at you and use them to build a monument.’ Whenever you endeavour to do something you like, you won’t always receive appreciation. There will be people who will try to pull you down and criticize to shatter your spirit. All you need to do is just ignore all the criticisms and focus on your work.

8. Use creative tendencies
Be creative rather than being reactive. Being proactive and solving problems even before they come is one of the most important qualities of an entrepreneur. A person should not have a tendency to react only when the situation demands but the person should be able to anticipate what will happen in future and be able to adjust himself to what is present. An entrepreneur who exercises such quality is always successful.

9. Get out of the safe mode
To be successful in business you need to take the risk. No risk no gain. Mr Ratan Tata always believed in taking risks and the result is clear that the risk paid off. To be successful you need to take a risk working in safe mode might make you feel comfortable but you will never be able to get the best out of the system. He once said “I don’t believe in making the right decisions. I take decisions and then make them right,”

10. Don’t put all your eggs in one basket
Mr Ratan Tata believed in investing in different companies so that his investment is always safe. He acquired a stake in the growing Chinese giant Xiaomi and leading e-commerce site snapdeal. Investing in different companies ensures that your investment is safe and grows no what the situation of a particular industry is.
